The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and get a record of successful experiences behind you.
-William Jennings Bryan
About the Journey
Dancer's Pose Progression slowly breaks down the layers to slowly build a strong, vibrant dancer's pose, while challenging you to embrace all parts of yourself and come out with a deeper sense of self-belief.
Ultimately this program is about embracing who we are fully and finding home in ourselves wherever we are at, and that this is one of the greatest gifts ever, we can experience; being human.
This Journey is on a topic that is really close to my heart, something I've worked with a lot over the years and I still continue to work with.
It focuses on progression that builds over time, and spotlights process rather than the outcome. The process of building a yummy dancer's pose as well as building self-confidence go hand in hand; each is a process of peeling away layer by layer, day by day, getting to know ourselves, our fears, our insecurities, and learning to embrace that whole process.
Our insecurities are a part of us and when we embrace them, then that helps us to actually build a sturdier kind of confidence and self belief.
LET'S DO THIS!
The Dancer's Pose Progression Journey: 5 Practices of 50 Minutes Each
Keeping a record of your tiny successes
This practice is about working with key actions and integrations that add the first layer in our progression towards dancer's pose. We'll establish some foundations within the body and focus thematically on acknowledging our tiny successes!
Confidence Is Built
Take a leap, start now
This practice is about taking the leap and just starting from where you are without waiting for a circumstance to be different. We look at the importance of taking little baby steps of action and the beautiful of failure in any process.
Confidence Is Courageousness
Fear not failure
This practice is a continuation of the previous classes, adding more layers to the progression.
"Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong."
-Peter T. McIntyre
Start Where You Are
You are here
This practice is all about recognizing tension, and working to relax into the spaces we are at, in this moment now. It's from this place we are so powerful, allowing ourselves to be real and raw, moving from the truth of the moment.
Joy In Who You Are
"Persons of high self-esteem are not driven to make themselves superior to others; they do not seek to prove their value by measuring themselves against a comparative standard. Their joy is being who they are, not in being better than someone else." --Nathaniel Branden
Today's practice, we'll be doing similar sequence and similar movements, but with the option to do it without the strap.

If I don’t have intermediate/advanced level, will this course be very difficult for me?
If you don't have an int/adv level practice you can still follow along the progression in this program providing you know how to safely modify it to your level. Always listen to your body and allow strength and flexibility to grow over time and we use a strap as this will help build your dancer's pose progressively.
If I don’t have a strap at home, what else can I use instead?
If you don't have a strap you can make your own out of a long piece of strong fabric (jean material works great) or you can use a belt. Straps are anywhere from 6, 8 or 10 feet long so you can measure a length that will work best for you!
